"Face on My Egg"
I must have been in a strange frame of mind this morning. The other photos in this series are, well, a tad gruesome to publish. It was a tasty breakfast!

"Strange Flowers Bloomin' "
I am not fond of clowns in pretty much any situation. They are weird at best, and downright creepy most of the time. I found these "cupcake clowns" left behind at the museum one day. They seemed so supremely alien, I wanted to capture that aspect of the bizarre. Here they "bloom" amidst the small green plants so often overlooked.

"A Small World"
While in Florida, I picked up a bag of Key Limes. After a few days sitting on the kitchen counter, I noticed a familiar image on the rind of this one.

"Where I grew Up in Queens, NY"
The spirit of nature that resonated in me even as a child was strong enough to lead me from such a dense urban environment, through a sharp career change, and to my current role as a naturalist and curator of nature sanctuaries. An adventure indeed!

"Alligator Island"
While traversing the Islands in Manursing Lake updating a plant species list as part of my job as curator of the Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary, I came across this toothy fellow. This creature, along with a gorilla, a hippo, a zebra, and rhino, are placed on the islands during Playland Amusement Park's summer season as "attractions" for the boat tours they offer. Bizarre.
